As a lifelong member of our community, retired Air Force officer, proud husband, and father of four, I have a deep connection with our community and desire to facilitate the success of our children through a highly effective and fiscally responsible school system. It is my desire that we ensure our resources are being focused in efficient and highly effective ways that not only results in high academic achievement but young adults who think critically and who are prepared for successful and fulfilling future careers.

Renee Powell
My husband and I have been residents of Newberg since 1992. I have been active in our community and dedicated to its well being for almost 30 years. I am seeking this position on the School Board to share my love of education and my hope for a renewed commitment to academic excellence for all children.
Together we can bring balance to our school board.

John Read
As a longtime resident of Newberg, my wife of 26 years and I raised our 4 children here where they all attended Newberg schools. As a small business owner, I see how important it is to ensure a ready workforce by preparing our youth for promising futures.
Students who are encouraged to excel academically while exploring various trades make for well-rounded adults with the skills, training and background needed for success. I look forward to working with parents and teachers to make sure Newberg schools offer the best opportunities for our children.
