      <image:title>Your Parks Your Voice - Matthew Smith</image:title>
<image:caption>marosmith@gmail.com As a C.S. Lewis and George Fox Graduate, and a citizen of Newberg, I am committed to the improvement to our parks and shared spaces. I believe we live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Chehalem Parks and Rec district is a unique regional government with a wide range of land ownership and assets from the Chehalem Cultural Center to the Aquatic and Fitness Center, from the Chehalem Glenn Golf Course to Roy Rogers Boat Launch, to the many parks in between. CPRD has immense land ownership in our communities and is part our lives in so many ways. It is imperative that the Board promote engagement, fairness, and fiscal responsibility with the near $12 million dollar budget it is responsible for. I will promote transparency and conservative principles to assure all involved that their money and resource are being used wisely. We also need to improve the areas we currently have, and grow in ways that benefit the community. As an avid user of the parks and follower of the arts in our communities, I believe I am uniquely qualified to provide a fresh vision and voice for CPRD moving forward. My experience in government including Planning Commission, City Council, and the Board of Property Tax Appeals for Yamhill County provides me the knowledge and experience to get things done as professionally and efficiently as possible.</image:caption>

<image:title>Your Parks Your Voice - Elected! Gayle Bizeau</image:title>
<image:caption>My husband and I are the second generation of Bizeaus to own a dental office in Newberg. After growing up in a military family, Newberg has become my beloved community and given me the small-town roots I spent my childhood longing for. I believe that CPRD plays a large part in what makes Newberg such a desirable place to live. My entire family regularly benefits from CPRD's facilities, programs, and venues, and that’s why I’m passionate about CPRD and the resources it provides. From the time my oldest child was 2, we have participated in basketball, soccer, water polo, gymnastics, and swim. As your representative on the CPRD Board, I will advocate for our district’s children while promoting: Fiscal responsibility- Good stewardship of your tax dollars which fund CPRD parks and programs. Park maintenance- Upkeep of our parks and facilities. Athletic programs- Vital for the health and well-being of youth. In my current part-time work in the prison system, I’ve seen firsthand that recreation and sports programs were too often missing in the lives of those I serve. I will strive to strengthen our community-based programs at CPRD, and help ensure our park system is well-run and preserved for future generations.</image:caption>
